From an early age, Markus was captivated by his camera. From the rugged beauty of coastlines to the personal stories of those around him, the power of the lens to capture distinctive moments in time through light, tone and technique drove him to pursue photography as his passion and career.

An intrepid traveller with appetite for going off-grid, Markus has garnered international acclaim for his vivid landscapes and fine art collections. Through MVPhoto he has united his passion for landscapes, people and love stories and today is one of Galway’s most iconic Irish Wedding and Destination Wedding Photographers. From the soft glow of the setting sun illuminating silhouettes before a dramatic landscape, to the sweet, romance infused first kiss of newly-weds, Markus imbues everlasting love, light and natural beauty in his timeless wedding photography. In his spare time with camera in hand, Markus loves to camp under the stars on Majorca’s northern coast, chase wild ponies in the Icelandic outback and treasures time with the two loves-of-his-life, his precious wife and daughter. He lives in the colourful seaside village of Kinvara on Ireland’s rugged Atlantic coast and can often be found shooting by the sea shore, his faithful lab at his side.

Based in Galway and capturing weddings throughout Ireland, Markus is also regularly retained to shoot destination weddings around the world.
